SOUTHERN BINH DUONG PROVINCE WATER ENVIRONMENT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – PHASE II

 The Southern Binh Duong Province Water Environment Improvement Project – Phase II has the total investment VND 6,398,863 million, equivalent to JPY 23,676 million which is financed by the ODA of the Government of Japan (through Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA) and counterpart fund of the Government of Vietnam with the objective to expand and newly construct the urban wastewater collection and treatment system in Thu Dau Mot City and Thuan An Town. The detailed scope of work is as follows:

a)      For Thu Dau Mot City (project cover area of 1,911 hectares): Construction of 10.87 km of main sewers D400÷D1350, 93.36 km branch sewers D200÷D300, 4.85 km of rising mains,130 km of wastewater collection pipelines D100÷D150, and 2,040 manholes; Installation of 10,000 connection boxes and construction of 9 lift/booster pumping stations;

For Thuan An Town (project cover area of 3,163 hectares): Construction of 28.97 km main sewers D400÷D1350, 82.16 km of branch sewers D200÷D300, 3.63 km of pressur                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      e mains, 195 km of wastewater collection pipelines D100÷D150, and 2,110 manholes; Installation of 17,000 connection boxes and construction of 10 lift/booster pumping stations; Building of a wastewater treatment plant with capacity of 17,000 m3/day applying the technology of ASBR (Advanced Sequencing Batch Reactor).


Description of actual services provided by the company staff within the assignment:
-        Review of Basic Design and Feasibility Study Report, carrying out of site survey, proposal of design option and selection of optimal technology for work items financed by the ODA and counterpart fund;
Topographical, geological, and hydrological surveys and landmark definition within the Project area;
-        Detailed Design (D/D), preparation of technical standards and contract;
-  Assistance to bidding process, preparation of tender documents and participation in bids evaluation;
-        Construction supervision for the Project;
-  Monitoring of traffic safety, environmental hygiene, working safety, etc. during construction process;
-   Environmental monitoring and performance of control measures described in EIA report during construction phase;
-        Management of project quality and progress;
-        Instruction for O&M; assistance for institutional building and other technical measures;
-        Training for capacity building for the PMU on management and operation of wastewater collection system, provision of software (GIS) for the operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system, pumping stations, and wastewater treatment plant.
